Gettin Crafty

So Charlee had her second gymnastics class this week and she was excited for it... I think.  We would ask her if she wanted to go play at gymnastics and she would say "Yes" so I have no reason to believe she didn't know exactly what I was talking about.  Not sure how fantastic this post will be because I'm not feeling so hot.  Ladies Night didn't treat me so great so I'm trying to think of what went on this past week and I keep thinking about my bed and that I must have drank way more than I though.

So this picture is great for several reasons: Charlee is like "fine mom, I'll look at you... but your so annoying with that camera" And to her right the little girl is... well I'm not positive, but I think biting, eating, or smelling her toes.  I do recall hearing a dad randomly yell obviously to this child to "get your toes out of your mouth" - You prepare for meltdowns and continuous re-directing and cutting in line... but this is a first for me, and can you imagine what is on her toes at this point? We were done with class so she had her toes all over the mats and floor.. Is that too much, because it was just kinda funny, now its kinda gross.  Still a great picture.
All dressed for her class.
Getting a little Strawberry Shortcake action before we left.

It was going great.... then we had to try to do the wheel barrel...
She was pissed that Gavin and I were trying to get her to do it.

Can we start? Can we start? I just want to sprint around the room.

 Clearly her fav

Improvement: She would step apart and together... last class we kinda skipped this one.

 Freestyle jumping
There is a mirror in front of her and she loves to watch herself.

This was new this week and if you cant tell she was so excited she couldn't control herself.  She was laughing and freaking out over the parachute.

She is good with the stamps now.
patiently waiting.  Oh and check it out: toes are getting ready to go in the mouth. HaHaHa
Class was over, but Charlee wasn't ready to leave.  She did sprint around the room like a wild banshee... never seen a banshee... but it sounds like it would be a crazy time.

My crafty friend Stephanie gave me these awesome ideas.
Coasters:
 Alphabet Magnets:
Charlee likes her Doda panties.  No, she is no where close to pottying in the potty, but we have to just get her familiar with all that comes with it.  And her little toosh looks so cute.

Yes Nina put the potty in the middle of the living room.  Just in case.
And the first of 4 QQR's this year.  My girls Meghan and Bree.  Only picture of the night.  We had a great time on Mass Ave.  Much needed catch-up time.  I was rudely reminded by my body that I am NOT in my early 20's anymore.  I'm having a little trouble thinking about what all I drank... so I'm just going to leave it at that due to the nausea wave coming back over me.  Sick. Love them both.
Daddy had to get me and Charlee some hangover food: McDonald's is amazing for that.  Thank You daddy.  We both napped... well, Charlee napped I went into a small coma waking up every hour to chug some Gatorade.
 ITS HERE!!!!!
It smelled so perfect, and even though I created the thing, first time reading it was so awesome... like I didn't know what was coming next.  And just to watch her change over the year... its just nuts. I hope she loves these books.  I love it.  Gavin now appreciates it... shouldn't have told him how much I spent on this.

Bed is calling.... after a quick swing by the medicine cabinet to really make my liver love me even more.

New Purchases

We did NOTHING this week.  I stayed inside and ordered stuff on-line, very productive I know.  Gavin is happy about it as well.  This past weekend we did go shopping after the baby shower for Berkeley (and momma Emily).  Charlee did a lot of eating M&M's at the shower.  She shared with her friends too so I'm proud of my little duckie.  Anyway... we were on the hunt for a potty! Exciting stuff at the Groningers.  She tells me she "pee pee" and its followed by "wet" so the Dr. thinks Charlee might want to me Mr. Potty and see how things go.  Like a first date... she might hate him and be over it after 2 min. We will see.
We went to Greenwood...

Love stick-on earrings!!
She has some serious sleepy-eyes... just got up from her nap.

Dang it Kens... open your eyes.
Haha so Maddie thought she would sneak a pic of me sleeping with my girl.  I wish I could just crawl back into the picture... man the fire gets me every time, it doesn't help my little heater is cashed out too.  Long day of shopping... what can I say? Thanks for not getting the open mouth-breather shot.
We found them..... Thank you Von Maur for having her size! Fancy Nancy must do some dancing... they were just what I wanted.  Simple... Elegant...what I imagined a cute little gymnast should wear. How could I pass on the tutu?
Here is Mr. Potty... She kinda digs him so far.
OH and Charlee wasn't the only one who got presents this week... Daddy was super excited that his Christmas present came after they were back ordered.  He knew where they were this whole week and that they should be coming.  "They are in Alaska"  "They were scanned in Indy" "Did you get the mail yet" "Did my shoes come?"  He even did shopping in anticipation for their arrival. He got socks and a new head band a couple of days before.  If i had any doubt, I'm pretty certain that he is stuck in a 12 year-olds body.  I'm NOT kidding.  They are my favorites so far and there have been plenty over the years.  He loves him some basketball shoes... (I can relate to the loving shoes) And no way will these puppies touch anything other than the gym floor.  I am a little worried that he might think he is 21 again when he puts these magic-makers on and tries to like dunk or something stupid because we have had many injuries and ER visits in the past years and I'm knocking on wood right now... Please don't get hurt.  They are low-tops too... Yikes... so I'm having flashbacks of when I was 38 wks pregnant and he twisted his ankle... I cant even go there.
Yep this is my husband.... fully dressed with new shoes, new socks, new headband, and the rest of his "gear"... And its only 45 min before Dave is coming to get him.  12 years old I tell you.  Sorry babe, but your a huge dweeb.  I did talk to Dave... and told him to hurry up because I thought he might bust out some suicides in the kitchen.
Good stuff... I'm actually laughing at him while typing. Really? This is what I'm married to...
Off to bed to watch some HOUSE! If i make it, been really tired... think its that seasonal depression getting me. I want one of those lights that I can sit under.

Charlee's 1st Gymnastics Class

My little baby is getting so big!!! I just look at these pictures and wonder how we got here so fast?  We went to the Dr this week for a check up and she is a whopping 25lbs and 33in long.  She is 65-70% for weight and OFC, and then SHOCKINGLY she is above 97% for height.  The little dot on the graph was above the highest line... and once again our Dr just giggled as she saw me start to panic about her being so tall.  I know I have no control of it so I need to just let it go, but I know that kids are mean and I'm already thinking if some kid in school is teasing her about being tall that I'm going to have to beat them up... not kidding. I'll bring it.  I'm serious.

So we had her first gymnastics class!! It was a success. I was a little nervous about her being in the 18-24mo. class, so we just trialed it and then let the teacher decide if she thought Charlee would be okay in the class or if she needed to go with the 12-18 monthers.  It was a mommy and me class so we went out with her... correction: Daddy and I went out with her.  And Gavin started out with the camera!! He is getting good, he used to get so annoyed when I would ask him to take a picture and when he did agree he would just click and not care at all if you were looking... so props to daddy who actually got some precious pictures.  And he now knows how important pictures are to me so I think he makes an effort to get me in a few... OR I'm crazy and it never crossed his mind.  Probably the latter.

She wasn't quite up to speed with the whole listening and following directions, but with some assistance from daddy she did just fine.  They started with circle time and had little hankie/scarves to keep them busy while they were stretching.  She just liked shaking it.  Mrs Kelsey was very good with them.  They took turns going around to the different stations... I was impressed with what she could do.  I had no idea she could do all this.  I was in shock.  My heart was swellin right out of my chest watching my baby rock out at another first in her life.
Im lovin everything about this:
And this:
Daddy is the photographer....
Mrs. Kelsey helping Charlee figure it out.  I love legwarmers!! I love how they make her chunky legs look so delicious.
Proud Papa.... Charlee is LOVING this. She didn't want to leave this station.  We had a mini baby jam at the bar station.  Gavin kept saying how strong she was... he was shocked she could do this.
forward and backward rolls down the ramp mats. we are loosing the legwarmers... no time to fix them either

Next 3 photos again taken by daddy!!  Back at the bar... This time she was getting mad at me touching her.

Loved the slide... into the foam pit!

This was 5 min after we left! Worn-out sis. I think we got dinner to go and she slept all night.

Poppy comes to visit! Actually Poppy came to drive my beater of a car to get a new tire (or two). The day before I must have hit something, I wasn't aware of it... but by the time i got home from Hoosier Gymnastics (less than a mile from our house) it was completely flat.  Gavin, Papaw Danny, and the guy replacing the tire think that I had to of ramped a curb.  I didn't, but they don't believe me.  Sooooo glad my dad came to drive my car! Thanks Dad! Love you.

Charlee ate a banana when she got up from her nap.
She was telling me something....

finally got my tumbler done.  It was a pain in my rear, once I had all the pictures ready the paper was too thick to slide back into the tumbler... So annoying.
Charlee doesn't usually like her towel on at all after showers/baths, but this time it was a cape and she loved it.

She has mastered falling without dropping her babies... talent!

It was a good week for everyone.  Charlee visited Lala, Aunt Jenny, and Poppy this week because I had to work a lot of weekday nights.  Thanks to everyone who takes such great care of my baby when I cant.  I take comfort in knowing she is with family who love her instead of a babysitter.  I know she gets kinda bossy and her favorite word right now is "NO" so feel free to use time-out.  My Brother and Sister-in-law were up at Poppy's house on Thurs and Friday so Charlee got to see them and Reece and Bricyn before they went to Covington for a showing and funeral.  Not the circumstances you want to see them under, but glad she got to see her cousins for a little bit.   And sorry baby Bricyn for the tennis ball to the melon!

I'm on the hunt for some gymnastics leotards.... $40 is too much to spend.  Hopefully I will find some before next class.
Happy Monday!!
