Daddy is 30

Gavin turns 30 this week! We had a surprise party for him at his grandma LaLa's house.  Its the perfect house for all things fun.  I thought a corn hole tournament would be fun for him with all his friends so I sent the E-vite out and thought the weather would surely be decent enough to play some corn hole... Weeks went by and friends were in on the surprise but the forecast was not playing nicely.  It was great weather up until Sat the 16th... then it was 48* and a chance of flurries! Are you serious? So I continue planning.. ignoring the weather.coms prediction (they are always wrong... right?) People called: are we still on for Sat? Its supposed to be super cold... you know that right?  Yes... I know.  So Sat morning is here and I get the cake, and the cake is amazing!! Its so so so good!! (Cakes by Jen 289-5209) She is in Brownsburg.  Anyways... I'm pretty sure Gavin knows what is up.  I told him I was going to get his cake and was gone 4 hours... he had to know... Dave was sent over to entertain.... still he has to know because he is a Groninger and you cant surprise them... ever.    Dave thinks he is clueless so I have some hope.  Then I start thinking he is just being nice and letting me think I'm pulling it off. 
Charlee has a small meltdown while getting ready to leave and falls asleep on Gavin without her "party shirt" on.  So its going well.  Gavin is commenting on the fact that we are late... again.... as always...(this time it was intentional) So I tell him to grab a jacket and he is like "No, I'm fine... we are just walking in" Okay then.  He wants to drive... perfect.  Finally, I tell him to go a different way and he is objecting then it clicks... "Are we going to Lorettas?" Then he is speechless for a while.  He had a good time... I think it was a good birthday! Duh... Winning!  No corn hole... and I'm pretty sure it snowed for a second it was that cold.  Thanks to everyone who helped me pull this off.  He still says he didn't know.  I'm skeptical.

Imagination Movers & Choo-Choo Soul

Daddy got a surprise for Charlee.  Her 1st concert!! She went to see Imagination Movers and Choo-Choo Soul was there too!! She loves Choo- Choo so I knew that was going to be a success... wasn't real sure she watched an episode of Imagination Movers ever, but warehouse mouse is a favorite little snip it of a show in between other shows on Disney Junior that she freaks out over (loves mouse).  We did put an episode on while we were getting ready that day and she wasn't interested... perfect. 

This wasn't her original outfit... she had a cute top and jeans but she thought at the last minute eyeliner went well on her shirt??? After the quick wardrobe change... we were off to meet Uncle Gaston, Aunt Jenny, and Gaeton "Giga" for the best concert eva!

She was just hanging out in her seat until the lights went out... she grabbed my arm for a second and I was secretly hoping she was a little scared so I could get some cuddle time if she "needed" me to hold her... Then the train whistle was blowin "Choo-Choo" and then she pretty much wigged out shaking with excitement and yelled "Choo-Choo" at me.  Like she was asking me if Choo-Choo was really here?? It was pure excitement and she just couldn't believe her eyes that Genevieve and DJ DC were real.  So... NO she didn't need me to hold her AT ALL! Actually I tried to hold her up so she could see better sometimes and she would just straighten her body and want down... to bust a move with Giga.

She got sleepy at the end of the concert.  It started at 7 and she us usually winding it down about then.  I'm sure she used up all her reserves freaking out over Choo-Choo....

Haha she was plugging her ears at the end saying "Loud"... After warehouse mouse came out she kept asking for the mouse the rest of the show.. "I uhno mouse" Poor baby she just wanted that little mouse to come out the whole show.  Daddy did go get her the mouse, and she loved it!

Oh yeah....  Daddys camera skills were pretty good, but he didn't get it when Rich gave Charlee a high-five! The camera had to adjust 15 times to the lighting... Its too good for concerts.

The Movers came back out for an encore... and they were supporting Butler Basketball! The concert was at Clowes Hall!! It was a fabulous time. Everyone loved it.  Charlee was getting sleepy towards the end of the show and wanted to just rest her head on our shoulders while she watched them sing and dance.  She made it through her 1st concert!!!

KiKa's Birthday! Kenz went on spring break with her friends and they drove back on her birthday so when she got we had a little birthday party waiting on her.  Buca's to go, and cake.... it was yummy!! Happy 19th...

Go Butler! Gavin made fun of us for buying new Butler shirts for the games.  We were just supporting our Indiana team... why not?  Wish they would have won!

I didn't think it was possible.... for the sun to ever come out again.  But how sweet is this picture? Just looking at it makes me feel all warm and energetic.  We were playing outside on this lovely day and several planes went by, Charlee calls them "Plates" and I keep telling her that plates take you to the beach so in June when we get on a plate she can ask if its taking us to the beach... and i will say "Yes little momma, it is"

So excited it was warm we didn't bother to change our clothes... just went out in Jammie's! Looks like she broke her ankle in this pic but she didn't.

Surprisingly... she doesn't mind me being inches from her face taking pictures.  She does every now and again want to see herself in the picture and then give herself a kiss.  That must mean she approves of the photo. 

Charlee is getting pretty good with her shapes... she told me to draw a diiiiamond and I was a little confused where she learned that one and after asking Daddy and he said no I just have to give credit to Doda, or Mickey... who knows.  I'm also shocked Daddy didn't just take credit :)

We can say all our colors... we just know ye-yow and blueee so far.  And she always gets black right... weird.

We went on our first "long walk" of the year and trust that i loaded her up with goodies and drinks and toys for the trip.  We had to just keep walking, I was bookin to try to get the route in while she was busy with watermelon and blueberries.  The pond was nice because she was distracted with the ducks and random guys fishing that she didn't remember she was in her stroller.  It was about 5 min after this pic that she was over it.  She wanted out and so she stood up and faced me pushing her and that was dangerous... but fun for her for a min or two.  Then she was wanting out and I knew my "walk" was over and now it was the opposite of productive.  I was walking backward it felt like.  She wanted to swing on every ones play set and tried to crawl under the fences to get to the slides.

Perfect St. Patty's day

Happy St. Patty's Day.  This year St. P rocked out some great weather I think my NEW Honda CRV told me it was 78* when we went to the park!! Yes, we got a new ride and I'm in love! Last week we started "looking" at cars and it was between the Rav-4 or the CRV.  We went back and forth and Tues 3-15 we were "dropping the Rav-4 back off and not making any decisions" and ended up getting the CRV... I know, craziness happened all in 2 hrs.  It was raining, I didn't get to say goodbye to my junker (Gav wouldn't even take a picture of her when we drove off) I'm a new woman rockin out the CRV.  I had to get new sunglasses for us hotties now that we are in a "cool" ride.  We look good in it - me and my little partner! I need to stop finding reasons to drive somewhere and jam with the windows (and sunroof..heehee) down!!  Charlee just chills in the back with her shades on!! OK-sorry back to St. Patty...

We went to the park and met Amber and Morgie there! The girls played and had a blast.  Jenny and Gaeton were there too.  Em still was prego and trying her best to walk herself into labor... didn't work until Sun!! Family is doing wonderful, Berkeley has lots of dark hair like Charlee did.  Congrats to the little family.  We did go visit and just when I thought Charlee would let me hold and cuddle... she wasn't having it! And she was really concerned that she dozed off and let her passy fall out of her mouth.  This was making Charlee crazy she just wanted to give it back to her "oh-no papskee" So I got to hold her for about 1 min.  Baby's are so precious! So tiny, I can barely remember Charlee being that little.  Man- I'm just scattered tonight... again, back to the park... 

Charlee didn't miss a beat in the last 6 months that she had been away.  She ran right up the steps and down the slide this time she was a little more stable and didn't want or need my help at all.  She is a big girl and mastered the "toddler playground" it made me a little sad that she was up and down and only came to me when she needed a drink to re-hydrate.  We were there for 3 hours and she was so excited she couldn't eat any snacks... too busy wearing her little self out.  The weather made everyone feel awesome.  I think I came out of my "seasonal depression" after I got a taste of what is soon to be the norm.  There is something about the warm sun and fresh air that makes everyone feel rejuvenated!! I loved it.

She couldn't make it another 15 min to wait on Gabbie and Alex to join us... she was so tired she was wanting me to hold her and couldn't help laying her head down for a sec or two! We got in the car and she was asleep before we got home (about 3 miles).

We drove past Brandy's and I could have called it... she was sitting out in the driveway trying to get burnt!! But best part... you could see a baby bump! Scrubs hide that so I caught her actually looking prego! Yay and she thought a stranger was pulling into the drive because she always gets the pleasure of the junker taking her to work! She loved the new car too!!

We spent the night watching tournament games and eating pizza while little ones played and made a huge mess but it was okay because it was nice out so nothing could bring me down.  Nothing... not even that my bracket went to crap!

Side note: Just so I can remember this event happened - Erins bachelorette party was last Saturday! Fun times! I'm pretty sure I'll be revisiting Talbot Street! Wow is all i can say!
